Local Rule 1015.1. ASSIGNMENT OF CHAPTER 11 CASES

(a) District-Wide Assignment of Chapter 11 Cases. Except as provided in subsections (b) or (c), the clerk shall assign cases filed under chapter 11 to a bankruptcy judge in this district without regard to the address or location stated on the debtor’s petition. This rule shall take precedence over anything to the contrary in Local Rule 1071.
(b) Exceptions. The following cases are exceptions to subsection (a), and the clerk shall follow LR 1071 in assigning bankruptcy judges in this district to the following types of chapter 11 cases:
(c) Reassignment. Within five (5) days of the filing of its petition, the debtor may request a transfer of the debtor’s case to another division of the court for cause shown and as the interests of justice may require. The judge initially assigned to the case shall make the determination of cause and the interests of justice. The debtor may make a request under this subsection on an ex parte basis. Nothing in this section shall affect the right of any other party in interest to request a change of venue to another division.
