Clerk's Office Operational Changes During COVID-19 Outbreak

EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 2020

The court is committed to continuing service to the public during the COVID‐19 outbreak. During Governor Sisolak’s press conference he stated that all Nevadans should stay home to protect family and the public. The court is taking the following actions to protect individuals involved in bankruptcy cases, as well as court employees, from transmission of the virus:

All court hearings will be conducted using AT&T Conference. No participants can participate in a hearing at the courthouse.

The courthouses in Las Vegas and Reno, and the bankruptcy clerk's offices remain open to the public. However, in keeping with local and national recommendations to help limit the spread of COVID‐19, the Clerk's offices in Las Vegas and Reno are providing limited services at their intake counters:

  • No person to person assistance is available. Customers can call, email or use the Chat program on the Bankruptcy Court webpage. https://www.nvb.uscourts.gov
  • Personal checks are not accepted for filing fee payments are not authorized for debtors. Debtors are required to get a money order or cashiers check. Please include the case number and debtor's name on all forms of payment. Payments by mail can ONLY be made by money order or cashier’s checks; NO personal checks.
  • Customers who enter the clerk's office lobby are encouraged to contact staff via personal cell phone, email, or online chat service on our website.
  • A drop box has been placed at the front counter for filings and payments.
  • A variety of critical forms are available to the public in our lobby.
