Filing Fee Increases Effective December 1, 2020

At its March 2020 session, the Judicial Conference approved inflationary fee adjustments to the Bankruptcy Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule (28 U.S.C. § 1930). The approved adjustment to the Administrative Fee will increase the fee to file a petition under all chapters and to file a motion to divide a joint case. Note that the increase to the administrative fee for filing a bankruptcy petition is only one portion of the total filing fee.

The new filing fees for the most common petitions are: Chapter 7, $338; Chapter 11, $1738; Chapter 13, $313. The changes go into effect December 1, 2020. Please see the attachment below for the list of fee changes.
