March 17, 2020 | Notice from the United States Trustee Regarding the Continuance of Section 341 Meetings in Chapters 7, 12 and 13 Cases - Region 17 IMPORTANT NOTICE Effective immediately, all in-person chapter 7, 12, and 13 section 341 meetings scheduled through April 10, 2020, are hereby continued until a later date to be determined. Absent special circumstances, section 341 meetings may not proceed during this period except through telephonic or other alternative means not requiring personal appearance by debtors. Appropriate notice will be provided to parties in accordance with bankruptcy law and rules. Meetings already noticed as telephonic meetings may proceed as scheduled. This notice supplements the March 13, 2020 Notice from the United States Trustee Regarding the Rescheduling of Section 341 Meetings. Questions should be directed to the field office Assistant United States Trustee. |
March 16, 2020 | Schedule Telephonic Conferences to Reduce Coronavirus Exposure (IMPORTANT: BELOW PROCESS HAS CHANGED – REFER INSTEAD TO MARCH 19, 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT ABOVE) The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada is committed to continuing service to the public during the COVID-19 outbreak. The court is authorizing participants in hearings to use Court Call to participate telephonically. The 48 hour prior authorization may be waived by the presiding judge. Trials cannot be done telephonically unless prior authorization by the bankruptcy judge presiding in the case. March 9, 2020 | Reducing Exposure to Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada is complying with the specific instructions provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) https://www.cdc.gov and is monitoring the website for any recommended actions. The Court is asking that the public also comply with the CDC Guidelines to protect yourself and others. If you fall within a higher risk category, or are otherwise uncomfortable appearing in person for a non-evidentiary hearing before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, please review the information on the Court’s website (https://www.nvb.uscourts.gov/judges/courtroom-technology/telephone-conferences/). At this time there are NO CHANGES to normal court operations. The Foley Courthouse and Federal Building in Las Vegas, Nevada and the Clifton C. Young Courthouse in Reno, Nevada are open. Any future changes or updates will be posted on this website and communicated as appropriate. Please note that any changes in court operations may vary between offices (Las Vegas and Reno), and will depend on guidance provided by local public health agencies. |
