Closure of the Clerk's Office in Reno, Nevada, to Public Access

Effective April 1, 2020, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s divisional office in Reno will close to the public due to safety concerns with the Coronavirus.  No staff are available to assist the public in the Reno office.  CM/ECF will continue to be available for electronic filing.

Any documents mailed to the Reno office will be forwarded to the Las Vegas office for processing.

ALL documents should be mailed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Las Vegas office at:

Emergency Bankruptcy petition filings without an attorney for
RENO CASES ONLY

BEFORE filling out the fillable forms, a filing party MUST receive prior authorization from Clerk’s staff.  Call (866) 232-1266.

If all four of the following documents are not received, a bankruptcy case will not be opened:

Signature pages to the petitions are required to be mailed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and received by the Court within 7 calendar days of the submission of the above petition documents.  Failure to comply may result in your case being dismissed.

Options for payment

  1. Official Form 103A - Application for Individuals to Pay the Filing Fee in Installments – Will be reviewed for compliance.  If determined that this request is denied, an order will be sent to the debtor and funds are required within 7 calendar days or the case may be dismissed. (Instructions)
  2. Official Form 103B - Application to have the Chapter 7 Filing Fee Waived – Will be reviewed for compliance.  If determined that this request is denied, an order will be sent to the debtor and funds are required within 7 calendar days or the case may be dismissed. (Instructions)
  3. Payment in full – Cashier’s check or money order required for the entire amount.  Must be mailed to the address listed above and received by the Court within 7 calendar days or the case may be dismissed.
