Effective January 1, 2015, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada, authorized the use of the bankruptcy mediation program.  In March, 2021, the program was updated by Administrative Order 2020-17 and then incorporated into the Local Rules in March 2021.  See Local Rule 3015.1. The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada has adopted uniform procedures for its Mortgage Modification Program (MMP). This program applies to Las Vegas and Reno Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings and all types of real property.

The Bankruptcy Court will not force any modification and will make no adjudication except with the consent of both parties. Any signed agreement reached at mediation must be approved by the Bankruptcy Court before it is binding and enforceable.
