The United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Nevada has adopted uniform procedures for its Mortgage Modification Program (MMP). This program applies to Las Vegas and Reno Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings and all types of real property.

The Bankruptcy Court will not force any modification and will make no adjudication except with the consent of both parties. Any signed agreement reached at mediation must be approved by the Bankruptcy Court before it is binding and enforceable.

Effective January 1, 2015, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada, authorized the use of the bankruptcy mediation program.

On January 1, 2021, the program was updated by Administrative Order 2020-17.

Effective March 1, 2021, the cost for the Document Preparation Software and Portal submission fee for the Nevada Mortgage Mediation Program is increasing. Document Preparation Software fee increasing to $60.00 from $40.00. Portal submission fee increasing to $60.00 from $40.00. The updated Guidelines and associated forms will be posted to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada’s website on March 1, 2021.

    Mortgage Mediation Mediators are for cases where an order was entered approving entry into the MMM program before 12/23/2020. For cases which entered the MMP after January 1, 2021, the mediator is assigned through the DMM.
