Pay for Installments in CM/ECF (7, 11, 13)

The information below pertains to paying for installments in the CM/ECF system. Registered users of CM/ECF with an existing order GRANTING permission to pay filing fees in installments may pay for installments within CM/ECF.

 

How to Pay for Installments in CM/ECF

  1. Log in to CM/ECF.
  2. Click the Bankruptcy hyperlink in the CM/ECF main menu.
  3. Click Miscellaneous.
  4. Enter Case Number.
  5. Click Next.
  6. If you are paying the 1st, 2nd or 3rd installment, select one of the following from the list of available events and click Next:
    1. Installment Payment 1-3 (Ch 7)
    2. Installment Payment 1-3 (Ch 11)
    3. Installment Payment 1-3 (Ch 13)
  7. If you are paying the 4th installment, select one of the following from the list of available events and click Next:
    1. Installment Payment 4 (Ch 7)
    2. Installment Payment 4 (Ch 11)
    3. Installment Payment 4 (Ch 13)
  8. Identify if the Certificate of Service is included with the pleading and click Next.
  9. Select the Party and click Next.. (Select Add/Create New Party if your party is not listed.)
  10. If you have an open installment, the screen will specify which installment is due. Click Next.
  11. The "Relate to the Order for Installments on the next screen" message displays. Click Next.
  12. Place a checkmark in the boxes for Order to Pay Filing Fees in Installments and Voluntary Petition. Click Next.
  13. The installment payment fee amound displays. Click Next.
    NOTE: This transaction willl not be complete until the actual fee is paid and the receipt verification has been docketed.
  14. Review the docket text and modify if needed. Click Next.
  15. Review the final docket text. Click Next.
  16. Notice of Electronic Filing displays.
  17. Select Pay Now or Continue Filing*.
    *If you select Continue Filing and the fee remains oustanding for 3 days, you will receive an automated email reminder and will be locked out of CM/ECF. At that point, you will only see the "Utility" menu, allowing you to pay for charges. Once charges have been paid, the system will automatically unlock your account for filing.
